For eight years, I spent countless hours and dollars trying to understand and process my past through traditional therapy. I talked about my experiences, revisited painful memories, and searched for answers, yet I often felt as though I was going in circles. It wasn't until I began turning inward and reconnecting with my creative side that I discovered another way to process my story. Through scrapbooking, I began putting pieces of my life onto the page- images, words, colors, memories, emotions, and dreams- and something shifted. I wasn't simply talking about my past anymore; I was seeing it, organizing it, giving it meaning, and creating something from it.
